After graduating from the Savannah College of Art and Design in 1996, I moved out to Portland, Oregon. After working with an "internet startup" that eventually imploded, I continued to hone my skills in web development until 2006. After a decidedly stressful position turned me back into the warm embrace of creativity, I was quite lucky to find myself employed at DeMarini Sports. Currently, I hold the position of Senior Designer....booyah.
In addition to working in the IT industry, in 2004 I worked with the Hollywood Theatre here in Portland, Oregon to produce the "50 Years of Godzilla Film Festival", a week-long celebration of the 50th anniversary of Japan's biggest star. Coordinating and organizing the film festival, I acquired the sponsors, created activities and displays for the attendees, brought in special guests and interfaced with companies like Sony and Atari to make the event a sucess. After the overwhelming positive response from those who attended, another exhibition is currently in the works. Although a different theme is in development, it promises to be another crowd-pleaser. |
